FC Arizona found a way to counter all of FC Tucson’s punches in an intense 2-2 Women's Premier Soccer League draw in a match between the top two teams in the Desert Conference.
The game started fast with a signature flip throw-in from Jaden Bailey which found the head of Erin Craig. FC Arizona’s goalkeeper Kayla King swatted the ball away only to find the feet of Luz Duarte. Duarte lofted the ball over the goalie but the shot hit the crossbar. Finally, the ball landed on Trinity Morales’s head, who put the ball in the back of the net in the ninth minute.

For the rest of the half, FC Tucson dominated the ball but could not manage to get past King.
In the 57th minute, Bella Santavicca took the ball off of the FC Arizona defender and finished the 1-on-1 chance, placing the ball into the bottom right corner giving FC Tucson the 2-1 lead.
FC Arizona responded again with a goal from Alexandra Shepard in the 66th minute. From then on the intensity of the game picked up as the players began to play more physically. Both teams had great opportunities to take the lead but neither goalies would allow it.
The tie was the first dropped points by FC Tucson, which remained undefeated at 3-0-1. FC Arizona is second in the Desert Conference at 2-2-1.
FC Tucson will be back at Kino Stadium on Friday, June 25, to face Las-Vegas' Atomic City FC at 7 p.m. MST.
