TUCSON, AZ — FC Tucson is excited to announce that four prominent USL teams—2024 USL
Championship Winners Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, 2024 Supporters Shield Holders
Louisville City FC, playoff qualifiers Detroit City FC and USL Championship Western
Conference Regular Season Champions New Mexico United— as well as the 3 time NWSL
Champion Portland Thorns, will come to the Home of FC Tucson, Kino Sports Complex, to train
and compete in friendly matches in preparation for the upcoming 2025 season. These teams will
be in Tucson from January 26 to February 18, 2025, for a week of high-level competition and
training.
While there are no gated games currently scheduled at this time, fans will have the opportunity
to attend an open training session on Thursday, February 6, 2025 (time will be announced
soon). This session will give fans a glimpse of these exciting teams as they prepare for their
respective seasons.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to again host men’s and women’s professional teams
from across the country of this caliber,” said FC Tucson’s Owner and President Jon Pearlman.
“FC Tucson is proud to partner with Visit Tucson and Pima County to support professional
soccer preseason for the 15th straight year.”
The week-long session will not only help to prepare these clubs for their upcoming season but
also continue to show why Tucson is a key destination for professional soccer. FC Tucson
remains committed to growing soccer within the region and fostering partnerships with teams
across all men’s and women’s professional soccer leagues in the United States and abroad.
More details about the open training session, including time, will be released closer to February.
