FC Tucson made another addition to its attacking line with the signing of forward Daniel Bloyou for the 2022 season.
The club announced the signing of 21-year-old Bloyou, who previously played collegiate soccer with Penn State.
“I’m excited to be in an environment where the drive to win and improve each day is very high from the players and staff,” Bloyou said. “I’m looking forward to taking the pitch with he guys and helping in whatever way I can to win games and titles.”
In his final year with Penn State, he led the team with eight goals scored, was named to the United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American, earned first-team All-Big Ten honors, and named to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team for scoring three goals and one assist in three games.
The Ghanaian native spent five seasons with Philadelphia Union Academy before college. He also featured for USL League Two side during in the summer of 2019.
“He has great pace, great athleticism, he’s creative in the final third and he has a great attitude towards the game,” said FC Tucson Head Coach Jon Pearlman. “He’s going to be able to provide us with some great moments this season as an attacking player.”
Bloyou is the 23rd player on FC Tucson’s 2022 roster. He joins six returning starters from the 2021 playoff team, including forwards Deri Corfe and Gio Calixtro.
The signing is pending league and federation approval.
