TUCSON (February 13, 2019) — FC Tucson announced today it had signed midfielder Colin Stripling for the 2019 USL League One season. Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be released.
“I’ve been chasing my dream of becoming a professional since I started kicking a soccer ball. To be recognized during an invitational tryout and get signed as a result makes me feel extremely proud. For FC Tucson to give me this opportunity to start my pro career means the world to my family and me. I will give everything I have for this club and their supporters.”
Stripling played collegiately at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. A four-year starter, he recorded 39 points, 15 goals, nine assists and four game-winning goals during his time with the Hawks.
During his senior campaign, Stripling lead the team with four goals and finished second on the team with 10 points.
Stripling was named second team All-MAAC as well as third team All-Northeast Region in 2017.
During his time with the Hawks, Stripling also had a brief tenure with the Seattle Sounders FC U-23 club of the USL League Two.
With the addition of Stripling, FC Tucson’s roster now stands at 14 players for the 2019 USL League One season.
