TUCSON, Ariz. (January 30, 2019) — FC Tucson announced today it had signed former Atlanta United defender Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu for the 2019 USL League One season. Per club policy, the details of the contract will not be released

Wheeler-Omiunu most recently played for MLS Cup Champion Atlanta United spending the majority of time on loan to USL Championship side Atlanta United 2. In 2018, he made 10 appearances for the USL Championship side while logging one appearance for the MLS club and an additional three appearances during US Open Cup play for the MLS Cup Champions.
A Harvard graduate, Wheeler-Omiunu registered four goals and eight assists in 64 career appearances for the Crimson.
During his college career, he also suited up for USL League Two club Seattle Sounders FC U-23, under then head coach Darren Sawatzky.
Wheeler-Omiunu was selected 46th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Atlanta United FC.
With the addition of Wheeler-Omiunu, FC Tucson’s roster now stands at five players for the 2019 USL League One season.
