TUCSON, Ariz. (March 29, 2022) – The monsoon has arrived early this year.
The rolling clouds that portend the rain, a sudden darkening of the Southern Arizona sky, only to be illuminated with flashes of lightning across the landscape, are staples of the Tucson summer months.
The 2022 FC Tucson home jersey captures the intrinsic elements of that storm. The jersey, officially unveiled Tuesday, embodies the roiling and unpredictable weather and is a perfect illustration for the power and energy the club brings to the pitch.

FC Tucson, in its 12th season and fourth as a professional club, also announced an historic partnership with a staple of Tucson, Quik Mart, as the front-of-the-jersey sponsor.
“This relationship is the result of a perfect storm,” said FC Tucson President Amanda Powers. “During our conversations with Quik Mart on a potential partnership, they expressed the need for a new logo. FC Tucson has an award-winning creative department, and we knew we could deliver not only what Quik Mart was seeking, but we were the ideal platform to carry that new look to their customers.”
As part of the agreement, FC Tucson’s Creative Director and South Tucson native, William Olguin, delivered a rebrand for the city’s largest independent convenience store retailer. Tucsonans will see the Quik Mart makeover later this year. In the meantime, customers will be able to grab their snack and drink, and catch a glimpse of their favorite FC Tucson player in stores with life-size cutouts and player appearances.
“I’ve long been a fan of FC Tucson and head coach Jon Pearlman,” said Brett Bishov, principal owner of SWC and Quik Mart. “We are delighted to team with a professional club that produces not only on the pitch but in the front office to create a positive contribution to the Tucson community.”
Olguin, a Sunnyside High School graduate, not only designed the PUMA kit patterned after the summer storm, but he delivered Quik Mart a fresh new look they could be excited about. In addition to overseeing all of FC Tucson’s creative design and graphics efforts, Olguin is a small-business owner with his clothing line, Be Raw.
In addition to the Quik Mart logo, FC Tucson announced the return of long-time official sponsors RightSure (home jersey) and CARF International (away jersey) for the back of the jersey. An Athletic Brewing patch on the sleeve features the return of one of the world’s fastest growing non-alcoholic craft beer brands.
The first time FC Tucson fans will get a chance to see the players wear the kits at home will be with the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. The USL League One home opener is Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. where the first 300 fans will receive a limited-edition Monsoon flag. Fans who want to grab their new 2022 Monsoon Kit for those matches can pre-order them online at here.
