After the first hydration break, FC Tucson's Marco Ferriol blasted a shot off the right post and Kevin Rodriguez capitalized off the rebound in the 33rd minute to tie the match.

In the 74th minute, FC Tucson had a chance to score, but the shot was cleared off the line by a Phoenix defender.
Brandon Sanchez rebounded a shot and it went off the crossbar.
FC Tucson Academy found themselves chasing the ball throughout the first half, but were able to calm themselves and dominate possession in the second half.

FC Tucson will go on the road for its next match, on Saturday, July 18, at El Paso Locomotive.
