After moving to Tucson following her graduation from Georgetown University, Sarah Adams was once again looking to get back on the pitch, much to the delight of FC Tucson Women’s head coach Amy Garelick.
It didn’t take long for Adams to leave a lasting impression on her future coach.
“She came out with our club side to kick around because she was interested in joining FC Tucson, and after a little while I went ‘Holy crap, she’s the real deal’,” Garelick said.
Going into her second season with Tucson, Adams provides a calming force in the midfield, helping to dictate the run of play and create scoring chances.
“When she’s on the field, you almost don’t notice her because she flies under the radar,” Garelick said.
“As soon as she’s off though, you can feel that something isn’t right. She leads by example, she gets the work done and never complains.”
With a midfield including Madison Irwin, Jessie Hix, and Megan Cavanaugh, Adams rounds out a foursome that Pacific South division sides will have to contend with all season.
“Our midfield scores a lot of goals, and Sarah showed an example of that last weekend, getting a great goal against Strikers FC.”
Come see Sarah and the rest of the side as they host their home opener against Southern California rivals San Diego SeaLions Friday, June 9th at Kino North Stadium.
The women kick off at 7:30 p.m., and will be back at the same time Saturday night to face off against LA Galaxy SD.
