Throughout the Desert Diamond Cup, we’ll take a look at some of the best players from each team competing in Tucson for the Cup, as we look to crown the CARF International Most Valuable Player, awarded to the outstanding player of the tournament.

With a career spanning more than a decade in Major League Soccer, Kei Kamara is one of the league’s deadliest scorers and brightest personalities.

This time last year, Kamara collected the Desert Diamond Cup Copper Boot as he continued the hot streak that had his name at the top of the league’s scoring list with 22 goals in 2015.

Kamara has a special tie to Tucson, as he’s the only player to appear in every edition of the Desert Diamond Cup, dating back to the first match between Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls in 2011.

Known for his smile almost as much as his goal scoring ability, the free spirited forward continues to make headlines at every club he’s been a part of.

After making the move to the New England Revolution last season, Kamara will once again look to make a deep playoff push with his side, after falling just short of the MLS Cup in 2015.

Whether it’s twerking during goal celebrations, or hammering in headers off of set pieces, Kamara consistently remains one of the most entertaining personalities in the league while maintaining his goal scoring prowess.

Catch Kei and the Revs in action this Saturday as they close out preseason on the final day of the Desert Diamond Cup. (TICKETS)
