Throughout the Desert Diamond Cup, we’ll take a look at some of the best players from each team competing in Tucson for the Cup, as we look to crown the CARF International Most Valuable Player, awarded to the outstanding player of the tournament.

After closing out last year’s season with six goals in nine matches for the New England Revolution, Juan Agudelo was rewarded with a call up to Bruce Arena’s January camp for the USMNT.

The 24 year-old forward has been a bright spot for Jay Heaps and the Revs since coming over from Chivas USA in 2013, scoring 21 goals to accompany his nine assists.

Known for his ability to pull off the spectacular including this goal in January camp, Agudelo will be a key player to keep an eye on moving ahead at both the international and club levels.

Agudelo has already made an impact here in Tucson, collecting two goals for the Revs as his side surged to a 6-2 win over Sporting Kansas City.

Catch Juan and the rest of the Revs as they close out preseason this Saturday in the ’17 Desert Diamond Cup Championship. (TICKETS)
