TUCSON, Ariz. — The FC Tucson Women return to Kino this weekend for fixtures against Southern Californian sides San Diego Sealions and LA Galaxy.
The girls sit tied for second in the PacSouth Division standings after earning three points on a road trip against FC Pacific and Strikers FC.
The team returns six starters from last year’s squad, including four current and former Wildcats. Analisa Marquez, Madison Irwin, Sarah Adams, Laura Pimienta, Paige Crouch, and Lainey Burdett will give coaches Amy and Todd Garelick a reliable core that can produce in tough situations.
When Tucson last met the Sealions in Kino, the girls were denied three points when San Diego were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute, giving the visitors a point in what would’ve been only their second loss of the entire season.
Brooke Webster and Hannah Wong provided the goals in the season opener against FC Pacific, getting a 2-1 win after going into the locker rooms level at the half.
Sarah Adams scored a late goal against Strikers FC on Sunday, but the team would fall, this time ending on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline.
Be sure to support the girls this Friday, June 9th at 7:30 p.m. as they look for a foothold in a crucial division clash.
