Throughout the Desert Diamond Cup, we’ll take a look at some of the best players from each team competing in Tucson for the Cup, as we look to crown the CARF International Most Valuable Player, awarded to the outstanding player of the tournament.

After a changing of the guard at the U.S. Men’s National Team level, Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber is once again in the thick of international play.

The 32-year old playmaker had a renaissance year in 2015, finishing the season with 15 goals and 10 assists, which had him firmly cemented in the MVP discussion.

Since then, Feilhaber hasn’t looked back, finishing 2016 with another 7 goals and 13 assists and playing his way into new USMNT coach Bruce Arena’s January camp after being absent at the international level since January 2014 due to his strained relationship with Jurgen Klinsmann.

When he’s not impersonating players off the pitch, he has continued to be one of the most dynamic players in American soccer, and a big reason why Sporting Kansas City has hopes of a deep playoff run.

To see Benny, come out to the final day of the Desert Diamond Cup this Saturday, February 25th at Kino North Stadium. (TICKETS)
